Below is a brief synopsis of what West End is all about.

OUR THEME
Connecting People With Christ.

OUR PURPOSE STATEMENT
WE are committed to connecting people with Christ through WORSHIP, COMMUNITY, MISSION, and DISCIPLESHIP.

OUR FOUR ESSENTIAL PRACTICES
1. WE WORSHIP the living God.

I am not just attending a worship service at WEAG, I am honoring God with my life.

2. WE engage in meaningful COMMUNITY.

I am not just acquainted with people at WEAG, I am doing life with them.

3. WE devote ourselves to MISSION.

I am not just serving here at WEAG, I am impacting my neighborhood, city, country, and world.

4. WE commit to intentional DISCIPLESHIP.
I am not just called a Christian, I am following Jesus with a deliberate plan of spiritual growth.

Why Practices?
Matthew 7:20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them." At WEAG, we have recognized that people are known by what they do/how they behave/what they practice!  While many people may agree or "mentally assent" to all kinds of things, but what they really do is the true test of what they really value.

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Scriptures are inspired by God and declare God’s plan for humankind.  They are authoritative and infallible in all they intend to teach.
We believe there is one true God, revealed in three persons…Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, as proclaimed in Scripture.
We believe every person is separated from God by sin and can have restored fellowship with God by repenting and receiving Christ’s offer of forgiveness, provided through his substitutionary death on the cross.
We believe sanctification (the process of becoming more Christ-like) is the work of the Holy Spirit.  It begins at salvation and continues throughout a believer’s life as validated by the Fruit of the Spirit.
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, which occurs when a believer invites the indwelling Spirit to empower him/her for mission.  This baptism is often evidenced by phenomena in the believer’s life (e.g., new boldness in proclaiming the gospel, accompanying miraculous works, speaking in other languages) as the Holy Spirit enables.
We believe prayer (dialogue between God and humankind) is a necessary part of the faithful life of every believer.  Prayer promotes intimacy with God and cooperates with God’s intervention in the world, including God’s supernatural provision of physical and mental healing.
We practice two Biblical ordinances:  (1) Water Baptism by immersion following conversion and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as commemoration of the death of Jesus and a celebration of his presence.
We believe the ‘Church,’ both local and universal, is the Body of Christ and consists of all who, through the ages, have been redeemed by God.  The local church has been commissioned by Christ to proclaim, through word and deed, the good news of salvation to all the world.
We believe one day Christ will return to judge all people.  The wicked will be separated from God while the redeemed will spend eternity with God.

OUR LOGO EXPLAINED

+ The cross and WE are central to our logo; the cross is circled, connected to WE, crucial to our identity.
+ WE, short for "West End," is a double entendre, emphasizing our togetherness as believers and WEAG as a place that values community and family.
+ The location of smaller circle and cross corresponds with WEAG's geographical west-northwest location in the Richmond metro area.
+ The series of circles of varying weights and colors represent the diversity of WEAG's individuals and ministries while still converging to form an overall circle--the miracle of the body of Christ.
+ WE extends outside the circle to illustrate WEAG's mission emphasis--to take the message of hope beyond the walls of the church into the community and to the ends of the earth.
