Family Life Special Events BABY DEDICATION
What is baby dedication?
The precedent for the ceremony of baby dedication may be found in Holy Scripture, as in the presentation of Samuel by Hannah, and of Jesus by Joseph and Mary. Paul reminded Timothy that “from a child” he had known the Holy Scriptures. Jesus considered “the little ones” infinitely precious and he said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me, forbid them not; for of such is the Kingdom of God.”
The purpose of baby dedication is really to be found in the commitment of the parents. Rightly understood, the ceremony is one of parental dedication. The parents are pledging themselves to obey the command of Paul, “provoke not your children to wrath; but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” This ceremony has little meaning unless parents dedicate themselves as well as their child, to God.
How can my family participate? We would love to include your family in an upcoming Baby Dedication (February 26). Parents must notify the Family LIfe Department of their interest in dedicating their child prior to their participation. Parents then meet with Pastor Shane Schlesman prior to dedication.
 Kids Camp 2012 – Mission (im)POSSIBLE will be held this summer, Monday, June 25 through Friday, June 29 for rising 3rd through rising 6th graders. This is an overnight camp experience. Registration packets with all of the details will be available starting Sunday, March 4 at the weKids Choir Production.

A great big Bible Adventure for ages 4 through rising 6th graders. Rising 7th graders and older may apply to be Youth Leaders. Over 150 adult volunteers are needed for this week of Bible learning fun! Morning Session - Monday, July 23 - Friday, July 27 - 9 AM to Noon each day Evening Session - Sunday, July 22 - Thursday, July 26 - 6:30 to 9:00 PM each evening SPECIALTY CAMPS
weAcademies of Art will offers a variety of music, dance and drama opportunities for children each summer. For more info on weAcademies   Held in late October each year, this event is fun for all ages!
